Oh Annie this was great! Nodding in agreement as I read.

Loved this! It made me think about the sentiment that "art imitates life" and how boring interiors are everywhere...because...boring opinions are everywhere? No one wants to be cancelled for doing something different/telling their truth and no one feels inspired because they're looking externally (at more safe beige) rather than internally where the real inspiration always resides. Hoping 2026 will encourage more interesting and honest perspectives to be shared so more beauty can be experienced.

THANK YOU! have never agreed more about something wholeheartedly. I’ve always joked that people with bad taste shouldn’t be allowed to make design decisions LOL

this post also made me think about Heather Hurst’s post about her tiger couch in which she says:

“Commenters on TikTok raise questions about the practicality of this couch long-term. I want to respond that practicality is for glamour-allergic losers, but instead write a diary entry about how the material obsession with “timelessness” is just mortality anxiety, disguised.”

Period!

Things really were so beautiful! Thank you for the gentle reminder that we shouldn't abide by the sad millennial beige. Let's keep our environments fun, intricate, detailed, full of colors and textures!!
